OPERATION
The Model 735 Lighted Windsock consists of three parts: (1) Lighted Windsock Frame assembly (2) Control Unit for providing DC power to the windsock light/s (3) windsock. The light assembly mounted on the windsock frame shines a beam of light into the throat of the windsock. The control unit supplies power to the light assembly in the frame and controls the ON and OFF times the light is illuminated. As the wind direction and wind velocity change, the windsock and frame rotate 360 degrees showing the direction and velocity of the wind.
The Solar Powered Lighted Windsock is supplied with a Solar Powered Control Unit (SPCU). The solar panel charges a battery during daylight hours. Control electronics automatically control the LED's ON/OFF times and the different lighting control options available. The standard factory set flash pattern for the LED lights is 2 seconds ON, and 2 seconds OFF. The standard setting for appling power to the LED lights is ON at sunset and OFF at sunrise. Other field programmable flash patterns are available. These setting are sellected depending on the average daytime light available in the location where the lighted windsock is to be installed.
The AC Powered Lighted Windsock is supplied with an AC Control Unit (ACCU). We offer two units for controlling the LED lights. A PhotoControl and a Digital Timer. The photocontrol automatically applies power to the windsock light/s from dusk to dawn. The timer can be programmed for many different ON and OFF times during installation and can be installed inside. Because power is always available, the windsock LED's can be set for steady burn - continuously ON at night. The AC Control Unit also suppled power to a top beacon when a top beacon is ordered. All DC top beacons require an AC Control Unit. Consult factory for other operating options.
The Lighted Windsock is designed to alert personnel of changing wind conditions day and night. This product is for installation at chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, nuclear, waste-treatment plants, at airports, hospitals, off-shore platforms, government, military, industrial facilities, or anywhere where wind direction is important.
