ANATOMY OF A FISHHOOK

The fishing hook is one of the most important item to the fisherman.

1. Hooks come in many sizes, shapes, metals and finishes.

2. Hooks are sized by the number that represents the distance between the Point and the inside of the Shank or the Gap.

• Large hooks (1/0 - 10/0) increase in size as the number increases.


• Small hooks (1-14) decrease in size as the number increases.



3. Select the correct hook for the species of fish you are fishing for and keep the point sharp.
